Jharkhand Man Held With Ganja Worth ₹20 Lakh; Gets 5-Day Police Custody
Mapusa: Mapusa Police arrested a 22-year-old youth from Jharkhand for allegedly possessing around 2 kg of suspected ganja valued at approximately ₹20 lakh.The accused has been identified as Vishal Kumar Manjhi, a native of Panki, Jharkhand. He was apprehended during a late-night raid at the parking lot of the New KTC Bus Stand, Mapusa, on September 16.According to police, the raid was conducted based on prior intelligence inputs by a team led by PSI Mangesh Divakar Palni. During the operation, police seized around 2 kg of suspected ganja and ₹500 in cash from his possession. An FIR has been registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused was produced before the JMFC Court, Mapusa, which remanded him to five-day police custody. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
