Governor Pays Homage to Goa’s Martyrs at Hutatma Smruti Smarak, Patradevi
Panaji Governor of Goa, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, on Thursday visited the Hutatma Smruti Smarak at Patradevi and paid solemn tributes to the brave freedom fighters who laid down their lives in the historic struggle against Portuguese colonial rule for Goa’s liberation.


The Governor laid a wreath at the memorial and observed a moment of silence in honour of the martyrs.The Governor was accompanied by his spouse Smt. Suneela Gajapathi Raju, Pernem MLA Shri Pravin Arlekar, senior officials and local dignitaries.Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said the sacrifices of the martyrs at Patradevi will continue to inspire generations and remind us of the true spirit of patriotism and courage.The Hutatma Smruti Smarak at Patradevi stands as a symbol of Goa’s first war of resistance and holds immense historical significance in the state’s liberation movement.
