Mapusa MLA Joshua De Souza Lays Foundation Stone for Paver and Drainage Works at Cunchelim Primary School
MAPUSA: Deputy Speaker and Mapusa MLA Shri Joshua De Souza laid the foundation stone for paver block laying and drainage works at the Government Primary School, Cunchelim on Saturday.The project aims to upgrade the school premises with improved pathways and a proper drainage system. Officials said the works will address waterlogging issues during monsoon and make movement within the campus safer for students and staff.
Speaking at the event, MLA De Souza said the development is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure in government schools across Mapusa. “Children deserve a clean, safe and comfortable environment to learn. These paver and drainage works will ensure that the school premises remain accessible and hygienic throughout the year, especially during rains,” the Dy. Speaker said.
He added that providing better basic facilities in schools remains a priority, so that students can focus on studies without infrastructural hurdles.
Teachers, parents, panchayat members, school management committee members and students were present for the ceremony. They welcomed the initiative and said the improved pathways and drainage will benefit hundreds of students.The works are expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
