Barricades for Nakabandi Become Permanent Hazard at Calangute, AAP Leader Warns of Accident
CALANGUTE: The barricades meant to ensure safety have themselves become a safety hazard at one of Calangute’s busiest junctions AAP Goa Vice President and Calangute leader Manuel Cardozo has urged the police to immediately remove barricades dumped on the road near Dolphin Circle, opposite Calangute Church. Cardozo said the barricades have been lying in the middle of the road for the past one week, occupying nearly half the carriageway.
“It is causing huge inconvenience to motorists and is an open invitation to a major accident,,” he said

.He further alleged that tourist buses are exploiting the narrowed road to park haphazardly along the roadside, worsening traffic congestion. Cardozo appealed to the police to shift the barricades to the roadside immediately after nakabandi operations are over to avoid any untoward incident.
