Goa Emerges as Top Choice for Monsoon ‘Micro-Cations’, Domestic Searches Up 40%: Tourism Dept
PANAJI, Aug 12 — Goa is fast becoming one of the most preferred destinations in India’s growing monsoon “micro-cation” trend, with domestic searches for rainy-season travel rising nearly 40 per cent year-on-year, the state tourism department has said. According to recent travel data, Indian travelers are moving away from one big annual holiday toward shorter, more frequent trips of 3 to 5 days. Duo and group bookings are leading the surge, with Gen Z travelers particularly driving demand. In a recent survey, Goa was voted the No.1 monsoon destination by 41.4% of Gen Z respondents, ahead of Coorg, Kochi, Udaipur and Varkala.
