Diesel Spill Causes Traffic Snarl on Duler Slope; Mapusa Fire services Respond
Mapusa: A diesel spill on the slope towards Duler in Mapusa caused traffic disruption on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a swift response from the Mapusa Fire Station.The incident was reported at 12:53 hrs after fuel leaked onto the road, making the steep stretch slippery and hazardous for motorists.
Mapusa Fire Station personnel, led by Sub Officer Prakash Kannaike, rushed to the spot and took up mitigation measures.
Firefighters used sand and absorbent material to cover the spill and prevent skidding, while traffic was regulated to avoid accidents.
No injuries were reported. Sub Officer Prakash Kannaike said, “Diesel on a slope is extremely risky for two-wheelers. Our team cleared the stretch and ensured the road was safe for traffic.”Normal traffic movement resumed after the area was cleaned. The source of the diesel leak is being ascertained.
