Thivim Karate Dojo Registers Exemplary Triumph at National Championship
thivim : The 1st Open Funakoshi National Karate Championship 2025, held at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, drew over 800 competitors from across India, converging in an impressive display of advanced martial artistry. Amidst this formidable national gathering, the Thivim Karate Dojo emerged as one of the championship’s most outstanding contingents, delivering a performance of remarkable calibre and discipline.

Under the expert stewardship of Sensei Sandesh Santosh Kolikar (Black Belt 3rd Dan) and the overarching mentorship of Sensei Mahendra Naik, Style Head of IJKAI Goa, the Thivim contingent exhibited extraordinary technical finesse, tactical precision, and competitive composure. The dojo amassed an exceptional tally of 13 medals — 6 Gold, 5 Silver, and 2 Bronze — reaffirming its reputation for cultivating disciplined and high-achieving karatekas.
The most distinguished performer of the championship was Mahaj Vinayak Porob, who secured dual Gold medals in Kumite and Kata, demonstrating an enviable blend of precision, poise, and mastery seldom witnessed at such a young age. His consistent excellence across state and national tournaments has firmly established him as one of Goa’s most promising rising talents.
The dojo’s medal tally comprised a constellation of accomplished athletes. Gold medals were won by Mahaj Vinayak Porob (Kata, Kumite), Ehaan Kamat (Kata), Shaurya Kambli (Kata), Aarushi Kerkar (Kata) and Hitanshi Jayant (Kata). Silver honours went to Parth Walavalkar (Kata, Kumite), Sidhant Reddy (Kata), Aryan Shinde (Kata) and Aarushi Kerkar (Kumite), while Bronze medals were secured by Sidhant Reddy (Kumite) and Aryan Shinde (Kumite).
