Sanguem Marks International Yoga Day with Enthusiastic Participation
SANGUEM: The Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC), in association with the Goa Cricket Association (GCA), celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm at Sanguem on Sunday, bringing together government representatives, sportspersons and local residents to promote the importance of yoga for a healthy lifestyle.
The programme featured a guided yoga session, during which participants performed various yoga asanas and breathing exercises, highlighting the importance of incorporating yoga into everyday life for improved physical and mental well-being.
Minister for Social Welfare, River Navigation, Archives & Archaeology and MLA for Sanguem, Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, graced the occasion as the chief guest and actively participated in the yoga session alongside the gathering. Officials of the Goa Cricket Association, cricketers and members of the public also took part in the celebration, reflecting the growing awareness of fitness and wellness through yoga.
Speaking on the occasion, Subhash Phal Dessai said, “Yoga is the key to a healthy mind and a healthy body. I encourage everyone to make it a part of their daily routine.”
The organisers expressed gratitude to all participants for making the International Yoga Day celebration a grand success and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting health, fitness and holistic well-being through similar community initiatives in the future.
