Ponda: With dreams in their eyes and boots laced tight, dozens of young footballers took their first step toward sporting glory as the Football Summer Camp 2026 organised by Goa Yuva manch an initiative by Adv Hrudaynath Shirodkar was inaugurated in Goa this week. The camp, themed “From the first kick to future glory”, aims to build champions on and off the field by combining technical training with life skills, discipline, and teamwork.
Children from across the region turned up with energy and excitement, eager to learn the fundamentals of the beautiful game. For many, it was their first structured coaching experience — a moment of nervous first touches, wide smiles, and high-fives.Coaches at the camp emphasized that the focus isn’t just goals and drills. “We’re building character as much as we’re building players,” said one trainer. “Respect, resilience, and responsibility matter as much as passing and shooting.
