Collector Chairs Meeting with Political Parties on SSR of Electoral Rolls; Draft Rolls on Nov 12
Kushavati: A meeting with representatives of recognised Political Parties to discuss the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls was chaired by Gurudas S. T. Desai, Collector and District Election Officer (DEO), Kushavati, Goa, in the presence of Shri Ramesh Gaonkar, Additional Collector-II, and Smt. Siddhy Pai Angle, Mamlatdar-in-Collectorate-I, Kushavati.
During the meeting, the schedule for the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls was discussed. The key dates are as follows:
12 November 2026: Publication of Integrated Draft Electoral Rolls.
12 November to 11 December 2026: Period for filing Claims and Objections.
28 December 2026: Deadline for disposal of Claims and Objections.
4 January 2027: Final publication of Electoral Rolls.
The dates for special camps were also communicated. The camps will be conducted on 28 and 29 November 2026 and 5 and 6 December 2026.
The meeting also highlighted the important role of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and Political Parties throughout the revision process. Representatives of Political Parties were urged to widely publicise the SSR schedule and encourage young and eligible citizens to enrol themselves as electors.
They were also encouraged to motivate citizens to visit the various EVM Demonstration Centres and gain hands-on experience in operating Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
The meeting emphasised the importance of active participation and cooperation from Political Parties in ensuring a smooth, inclusive and effective Special Summary Revision process.
