Mapusa MLA Salutes Anganwadi Teachers as Pillars of Child Development
MAPUSA: Highlighting that nation building begins not in assembly halls but in Anganwadis, Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza felicitated Anganwadi teachers for their selfless service towards child care, nutrition and early childhood development.

The felicitation was organized under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which aims to recognise grassroots workers who transform government schemes into reality on the ground.Addressing the gathering, MLA Joshua D’Souza said Anganwadi teachers are the backbone of the system, supporting families at the most crucial stage of a child’s life. For many in Mapusa and across Goa, he noted, the Anganwadi didi is the first teacher, first nutritionist and first counsellor for young mothers.
The initiative focused on the vital role of Anganwadi centres in promoting holistic child development, improving nutrition levels and ensuring welfare of women and children through continuous awareness and community engagement.The programme appreciated the teachers not just for their official duties, but for the compassion and personal connect they maintain with every family they serve.
