30 MLD Raw Water Pumping Station Commissioned at Calangute
Calangute, 7th Oct: Bringing major relief to the water infrastructure of North Goa, the newly constructed 30 MLD Raw Water Pumping Station at Calangute on the Tillari Irrigation Canal was commissioned on wednesday .The facility, constructed by the Water Resources Department, Government of Goa, aims to supply raw water to Pilerne Industrial Estate and the surrounding areas of Calangute and Saligao. The pumping station was inaugurated at the auspicious hands water resources Minister Subash Shirodkar


Speaking on the occasion, Subhash A. Shirodkar, Minister for Water Resources, said, “This 30 MLD pumping station is a crucial step towards water security for North Goa. It will ensure uninterrupted raw water supply to the Pilerne Industrial Estate and will also benefit the residents of Calangute and Saligao.
The department is committed to strengthening water infrastructure across the state. said MLA of Calangute and Chairman, GSIDC, said” Michael V. Lobo, , “This was a long-pending demand of the people of Calangute. With this pumping station, the water issues of the coastal belt will be addressed to a large extent. This project will support both industry and local households. Kedar J. Naik,MLA of Saligao added that “The commissioning of this station will benefit Saligao and surrounding villages immensely. It reflects the government’s focus on inclusive development”śaid naik
“The ceremony was held at the Pumping Station premises, Opp. Bon Voyage Chapel, Calangute, in the presence of Zilla Panchayat Member – Franzilia Rodrigues, Calangute, sarpanch Joseph Sequeira, Sarpanch of V.P. Saligao, Lucas Remedios Presidentof calangute communidade . Anthony F. D’Souza, and attorney of Communidade Calangute . Augustin Proenca, along with WRD officials and local residents.
