MLA KEDAR NAIK INAUGURATES HIGH MAST LIGHT AT BETIM FERRY JETTY; LIGHTS UP VITAL COMMUTER HUB
Saligao – Saligao MLA Kedar Naik inaugurated the newly installed High Mast Light near the Betim Ferry Jetty on Saturday, in the presence of Reis Magos Panchayat members, locals and ferry commuters. The high mast light, a long-pending demand of locals, will illuminate the entire jetty premises which serves as a crucial link between Betim and the capital city Panaji and is used by hundreds of people daily
.After switching on the light, MLA Kedar Naik said that strengthening grassroots infrastructure and enhancing public safety remains his top priority.”The Betim Ferry Jetty is a lifeline for our people. Safety of commuters, especially women, students and senior citizens travelling late in the evening, was a major concern due to poor lighting. This high mast light will ensure better visibility, improve security and make the area more welcoming. We are systematically upgrading public spaces across Reis Magos and Saligao,” Naik said.
Sarpanch and members of Reis Magos Panchayat lauded the MLA’s initiative and said the project reflects responsive governance and timely fulfillment of public demands.Local commuters and residents welcomed the move, stating that the new lighting will provide much-needed relief during night hours .The event concluded with locals thanking MLA Kedar Naik for his continued efforts in transforming local infrastructure.
