Goa Stumble After KSCA Presidents XI Rally to 396
Panaji Goa lost its grip on the four-day match against KSCA Presidents XI in the Dr. (Capt.) K. Thimmappiah Memorial Cricket Tournament on the third day. Chasing Goa’s first-innings total of 338, KSCA Presidents XI recovered from a precarious 7 for 210 to score 396, taking a 58-run first-innings lead over Goa. At stumps on the third day, Goa were struggling at 167 for 8 in 33 overs in their second innings. Goa’s overall lead stands at just 109 runs, with only two wickets remaining. The match is being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Overnight unbeaten batter Venkatesh, who resumed on 11, scored 49. KSCA XI were subsequently reduced to 295 for 9. However, Shikhar Shetty (92) and Mohsin Khan (not out 51) put the team in a strong position with a remarkable 101-run partnership for the last wicket.
For Goa, Lalit Yadav was the leading wicket-taker with three wickets for 77 runs. Ruthvik Naik and Amulya Pandrekar claimed two wickets each, while Vasuki Koushik, Vijesh Prabhudessai and Darshan Misal took one wicket apiece.
In Goa’s second innings, opener Suyash Prabhudesai smashed a sensational 100 off 74 balls, including 14 fours and four sixes. Shivendra Bhujbal (16), Snehal Kauthankar (15) and Darshan Misal (13) also reached double figures.
For the opposition, Manvanth Kumar took three wickets, while Mohsin Khan and Shubhang Hegde claimed two wickets each. Akshath Prabhakar took one wicket.
