Vedanta Iron And Steel Limited Recognised for Excellence in River Fleet & Cargo Operations
Goa, September 1, 2026: River Fleet Shipping Division (RFS) of Vedanta Iron And Steel Limited (VISL) has been recognised for strong operational capabilities, efficiency and contribution to the river fleet and maritime cargo operations with the International Maritime Club (IMC) Golden Shield Excellence Award 2026 in the category of Excellence in River Fleet & Cargo Operations, recognising its strong operational capabilities, efficiency and contribution to the river fleet and cargo operations sector. The award was received by Mr Nitesh Samant, CEO – River Fleet Shipping, on behalf of the company.
The recognition acknowledges RFS’s performance across key parameters including operational excellence, fleet capabilities, cargo movement, safety, efficiency, innovation and overall industry contribution. The award further reinforces RFS’s focus on delivering safe, efficient and seamless cargo movement through its river fleet operations.
The recognition builds on RFS’s strong track record of performance, including the Gold Export Excellence Award for FY 2025–26, conferred for achieving the highest iron ore exports through New Mangalore Port Trust during the financial year. The achievement was supported by consistently benchmark turnaround time (TAT), efficient cargo planning and load rates exceeding port norms.
