MLA Brings Government Schemes to Doorsteps of Calangute Residents
CALANGUTE: In a major outreach initiative, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo successfully organized a special Government Scheme Awareness & Registration Drive at Saunta Vaddo, Calangute, ensuring welfare benefits reach the last person in line.
The camp witnessed a large turnout as government officials, along with Lobo’s team, provided on-the-spot assistance to residents regarding eligibility, documentation and registration. A key highlight of the drive was the special enrolment of canoe owners and members of the Baga St. Khuris Fishermen Association under the Mukhyamantri Nustekar Mazat Yevjan, a flagship scheme for the fishermen community.

Guidance was also provided on schemes for senior citizens, single women, and healthcare benefits like DDSSY. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Michael Lobo said, Our aim is simple – no eligible citizen in Calangute should be deprived of Government benefits due to lack of information. We are bringing the government to your doorstep, not the other way around. “Residents lauded the initiative, stating that such camps save them multiple trips to government offices.
This drive is part of MLA Lobo’s continued mission to make Calangute a model constituency for 100% saturation of welfare schemes.
