Goa DGP collapses near stage at Independence Day event; health condition stable

PANAJI: (Aug 15) Goa Director General of Police Alok Kumar fainted near the stage at the Independence Day function attended by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in Panaji on Saturday, triggering an alarm.

The Chief Minister’s Office said the DGP collapsed due to dehydration.

Kumar was taken to a private hospital for treatment on a stretcher from the venue. The Goa Police said, “Everything is normal”.
