Smoke Scare at Aldona’s Kamat Pearl Society; Mapusa Fire Team Led by Shri Suraj Shetgaonkar Responds Swiftly
Mapusa : Panic gripped residents of Kamat Pearl Cooperative Society on afternoon after thick smoke was seen billowing from a room in the premises. The incident was reported at 15:55 HRS. A fire tender from Mapusa Fire Station rushed to the spot under the leadership of Shri Suraj Shetgaonkar, Leading Fire Fighter. Firefighters gained entry, ventilated the area and traced the source of the smoke.
Officials said timely intervention prevented the situation from escalating. No fire was found to have spread, and no injuries or casualties were reported.
Residents were evacuated as a precaution and later allowed to return once the area was declared safe. The exact cause of the smoke is yet to be ascertained. fire services have urged housing societies in the area to conduct regular electrical and safety audits to avoid such incidents.
