7 Villas Burgled in Porvorim Despite 8 Guards on Duty Porvorim
Porvorim: A gated residential complex in Porvorim was targeted by burglars in the early hours of Saturday, with seven villas allegedly broken into even as eight security guards were on duty. According to the police complaint, unidentified persons scaled the compound wall of the complex and broke into seven villas between 12.30 am and 3.45 am. The burglars are also accused of damaging CCTV cameras at the premises to avoid detection. The incident was reported to Porvorim Police around 11 am, several hours after it occurred. Police said a delayed complaint may have cost them crucial time to track the culprits. Officers also expressed surprise that none of the eight guards on duty noticed the break-ins. A dog squad and fingerprint experts were later called in to collect evidence from the site. An investigation is underway to identify those involved and ascertain the value of items stolen.
