Tree fall incidents disrupt traffic, power in Bardez; Fire Service clears roads, secures lines
MAPUSA: Fire personnel from Mapusa station swung into action after two tree fall incidents were reported in Bardez on Tuesday morning. The first call came at 11:32 hrs when a wild tree crashed near Grand Goa Exotica hotel at Aradi, Guirim, bringing down an electrical line and blocking the road. An initial report of the tree falling on a house was later corrected. At 11:42 hrs, a second call reported a jungle tree falling on an electrical line and road near Aman Lotlikar’s house at Avchit Wada, Thivim.
A team led by leading firefighter Vishnu Gawas rushed to both spots. Fire personnel cut and removed the fallen trees, cleared the blocked roads, and cordoned off the damaged electrical lines to prevent accidents. Power department staff were alerted to restore supply. No casualties were reported.
