The deadlock was broken when Soham finished clinically, from outside the box scoring the fastest goal in the tournament only for Soham N to equalize late, heading home from a set-piece to make it 1-1 at the break.

The tempo rose as both teams pushed for a winner. Almedia switched to a high press but were caught out on transitions. Chances were few and far between as both backlines stood firm with last-ditch tackles and blocks. Elroy and Gladwin were cautioned for mistimed challenges as the game turned physical.
