Susegad São João 2026 Lights Up Calangute with Music, Merriment, and Community Spirit
CALANGUTE – Calangute swayed to the susegad rhythm on Thursday as Susegad São João 2026 drew thousands of residents, tourists, and families for an evening of music, tradition, and celebration at the village grounds.The festival, held to mark the monsoon feast of São João, transformed the coastal village into a vibrant stage of Goan culture. Traditional songs, lively performances, competitions, and stalls serving local delicacies kept the crowd engaged till late. From flower-crowned floats to folk dances, every corner reflected the true spirit of São João — joy shared together.More than just entertainment, the event strengthened community bonds. Residents joined visitors in games and competitions, while children and elders alike participated in the festivities.
Organizers said the turnout and enthusiasm surpassed expectations, making this year’s celebration one of the most memorable in recent times.
Calangute Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira, Panch Members, the Susegad São João Organising Committee, volunteers, sponsors, performers, and stall holders were all appreciated for their contributions. “Your support and participation made this event truly special,” the committee said, thanking everyone who attended and helped bring the susegad spirit of Calangute alive.
