Liquor worth Rs 1.63 crore meant for sale only in Goa seized in Maharashtra’s Thane district
THANE: (Jun 19) The Maharashtra excise department has seized Goa-manufactured liquor worth more than Rs 1.63 crore in Thane district and arrested a Rajasthan resident in connection with the alcohol seizure, an official said on Friday.
Acting on inputs, an excise team intercepted a six-wheeler container truck near Vadape village on June 17, he said.
A large stock of liquor meant for sale only in Goa was found concealed inside the vehicle, said Pradeep Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of State Excise, Konkan Division.
