Ferreira demands Pradhan’s ouster over NEET leak
Mapusa: Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira has said that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should be sacked for the NEET paper leak. He also stated that the time has come for a change to vote out the BJP government.
Speaking during a protest rally held on Saturday by the Congress party and Youth Congress workers, Ferreira said that injustice has been done to the youth.
“There is a ‘Pradhan’ who is there thinking he is a Pradhan Mantri. A scam has happened where the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET exam, the paper has been leaked, and money was taken for this, and the whole country knows. Students in so many states have been affected. Students have committed suicide,” he said.
“They have no shame. When such scandals happen, the minister resigns, but here the ministers in the central government have no shame. Every year this scandal happens and the minister does not resign. And why is this being done by the Modi government? Because they want commission. This is a dalal government; it does not think of the common man. There was also a CBSE scam. They should have a conscience to resign, or at least Modi must sack him and send him home. The future of the youth has been finished. Even in Goa, there was a cash-for-jobs scam. No one resigned. It is in their DNA to rob and give to their friends,” he said.
Ferreira said that the NTA website says it is an autonomous body, but there is no law under which it governs.
“There is no notification in law and no oversight. They are doing this randomly. No experts are there, no checks and balances. That’s why paper leaking is happening there. BJP is a government only to sell India’s interest to the highest bidders. They are playing with the future of our nation,” he said.
He said that Congress will protest for the rights of the students.
“The minister Pradhan must be sacked. We need to get him out. The Youth Congress has rallied behind and stands behind every youth, every aspiration of theirs. It is only the Congress which will do justice. It will come to the rescue of everybody,” he said.
“I ask everyone: the time for change has come. They will introduce an array of programmes to divert people’s minds. They have given assurances, but nothing has been fulfilled. They will want to divide us. We must stay united,” he added.
