Mapusa : A fire broke out at the Deccan Queen company unit located near Colvale Industrial Estate on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a swift response from Mapusa Fire Services.The incident was reported at 12:26 hrs. A team from Mapusa Fire Station led by Leading Firefighter Vishnu Gawas rushed to the spot with a fire tender and necessary equipment.Fire personnel brought the blaze under control and prevented it from spreading to adjacent units in the industrial area. Cooling operations were carried out to avoid any reignition.No injuries were reported. The extent of damage to machinery and material is being assessed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.“On receiving the call, our team reached the site quickly and contained the fire,” said Leading Firefighter Vishnu Gawas.
