Diwar–St Pedro RoRo Ferry Set for Launch as ₹6.23-Cr Ramp Work Nears End
Panaji, May 19: The long-pending Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) ferry service connecting Diwar island to St Pedro, Ribandar is finally nearing rollout, with construction of two dedicated ferry ramps worth ₹6.23 crore in the final stages.Officials from the River Navigation Department (RND) said the ramps at Diwar and St Pedro are structurally complete, with only finishing and electrical works left. Once commissioned, the service will allow vehicles to drive directly onto the ferry, cutting travel time and easing traffic pressure on the narrow Chorao route.
