CM SAWANT DEFENDS JOURNALISTS, CALLS REMARKS ON MEDIA ETHICS ‘UNACCEPTABLE

‘PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday came out in support of journalists, condemning recent remarks questioning media ethics and asserting that no one has the right to make such statements.

Addressing the media Dr. Sawant referred to reporters as ‘friends’. Responding to a question on comments made by youtuber Gautam Khattar on journalists’ ethics, the Chief Minister said he condemns any such statements.”If someone is at fault, it should be addressed privately rather than publicly. Statements of this nature are unacceptable,” Dr. Sawant said.

He stressed that sweeping remarks against the media were not warranted and maintained that issues, if any, should be taken up individually and not through public criticism of the profession.
