Shree Damodar High School storm into final with 134-run win
Panaji: Shree Damodar High School registered a commanding 134-run victory over Mahila Nutan High School in the semi-final of the U-14 President Cup inter-school cricket tournament (25 overs) organised by the Goa Cricket Association. The Salcete zone match was played at the S.K. Ground, Molcornem.
After winning the toss, Mahila Nutan High School opted to bowl first. Shree Damodar High School made full use of the opportunity, piling up a massive 227 for no loss in their allotted 25 overs. Rumaan Mulam led the charge with an unbeaten 106 off 82 balls, striking 10 boundaries and a six. He was well supported by Usman Ghani, who smashed an unbeaten 103 off 70 deliveries, laced with eight fours and three sixes, as the duo dominated the proceedings.
Chasing a daunting target of 228, Mahila Nutan High School struggled to gain momentum and were restricted to 93 for nine in 25 overs. Praneet Salunke top-scored with 22, while Mayank Shirodkar remained unbeaten on 12.
Usman Ghani starred with the ball as well, picking up three wickets for nine runs in two overs. Sangram chipped in with three wickets for 14 runs in two overs to seal a comprehensive victory.
With this win, Shree Damodar High School advanced to the final of the tournament.
