According to Manguirish, secretary of BPS Sports Club, Margao, the tournament has already established itself as a landmark event in Goa’s pickleball calendar. “The BPS All Goa Major Ranking Pickleball Tournament has a record prize pool of ₹5 lakhs — the largest in Goa. Building on last year’s success, the tournament has expanded its categories, offering more opportunities for players across age groups and skill levels,” Manguirish said.
The championship will be conducted in association with the Goa Pickleball Association, reinforcing a collaborative effort to strengthen competitive pathways for the sport in the state.
With its growing base of players, increasing tournament participation and structured ranking events, pickleball in Goa is steadily transitioning from a niche recreational activity to a serious competitive sport. The BPS Open Pickleball Championship 2026 aims to further that momentum, even as Manguirish acknowledged support from Mayur Sawkar, president of the Tropical Association, chief patron Rajesh Khaute, Manoj Patil and Sandeep Heble towards organising the event.
