Mamlatdar’s Crackdown: Giant Wheel and Amusement Activities Sealed Over Lack of NOC
Mapusa, Goa – In a major crackdown, the Mamlatdar has ordered the sealing of a giant wheel and other amusement activities set up without proper NOCs at the Bodgeshwar Jatra festival grounds, following orders from the District Magistrate. The action was initiated by Additional District Collector Pundlik Khorjuvekar, who directed Deputy Collector Varsha Parab, Mamlatdar, and Temple Administrator Anant Malik to take immediate action.
The order comes after the concerned departments failed to produce necessary NOCs and safety permits. Earlier, on December 26, Khorjuvekar had ordered the closure of one giant wheel, but other rides and activities continued to operate.
The move has sent shockwaves among locals and tourists attending the festival.
