Saligao MLA Kedar Naik Takes Bold Step to Curb Illegal Garbage Dumping
Saligo: In a significant move to tackle the issue of illegal garbage dumping, Saligao MLA Kedar Naik inaugurated a newly installed boom barrier at Pilerne on Friday . The barrier is aimed at regulating vehicle movement and preventing waste collection trucks from dumping garbage in unauthorized areas.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Shri. Harish Adconkar, Managing Director of Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC); Shri. Sandeep Bandodkar, ZP Reis Magos; Shri. Lucas Remedios, Sarpanch of Saligao; and other local leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kedar Naik emphasized the importance of proper solid waste management and the need to protect the environment. He assured that strict action would be taken against violators who attempt to dump garbage illegally.
The boom barrier is expected to play a crucial role in keeping Saligao and surrounding areas clean and sustainable. The initiative has been welcomed by residents, who have long been complaining about the issue of illegal garbage dumping.
The installation of the boom barrier is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen solid waste management in the state. The move is seen as a significant step towards achieving the goal of making Goa a clean and green state
