Don’t shield a dishonest officer, get rid of such scoundrels from Goa: Carlos to DGP
MAPUSA: Aldona Congress MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira on Wednesday hit out at the state’s top cop, the Director General of Police for trying allegedly trying to cover up for an unnamed IPS officer, who the state tourism minister Rohan Khaunte blamed for behaving in a ‘high handed manner’ with regards to the holding of an Oceanman event in Goa.
In response to the Khaunte’s claims the state’s DGP Alok Kumar, said that they found no call was received at the police station by any IPS officer regarding the event.
“Is the Goa DGP playing cover up and lying, or is minister Rohan Khaunte lying? The DGP claims that he found out from the police that there was no call from any officer regarding the Oceanman event at Caranzalem. We’ve heard what Rohan Khaunte said very clearly,” Ferreira said.
“Did Rohan Khaunte say that an IPS officer called the police station? Why distort the statement? Did the police question Rohan Khaunte as a witness to find out the truth? Don’t shield a dishonest officer Mr. DGP. Get rid of such scoundrels from Goa,” he also said.
“Is DGP making Rohan Khaunte an outright liar. Over to you Mr DGP, time for you to clarify or take action,” he said.
