The Margao Police have announced that they’ll be transferring the Edberg Pereira custodial assault case to the Crime Branch in Ribandar, amid growing public concern over the incident. Pereira, who suffered a severe head injury while in police custody, underwent brain surgery and is currently receiving treatment at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC).’
Pereira’s condition is showing some promise of recovery, although it’s still too early to predict the outcome. He has been shifted from the ICU to Ward No. 8, where he’s receiving further treatment.
