Dr. Natekar’s 32nd book to be released on November 1

Mapusa: The publication of the collection of ideological articles ‘Vichar-Shilp’ by Mhapasa-based writer and entrepreneur Dr. Gurudas Bhalchandra Natekar will be held on Saturday, November 1, at the Marathi Sahitya Sammelan at the multipurpose hall of the Directorate of Art and Culture at Pato-Panaji as part of the inaugural session at 10 am. This is Dr. Natekar’s 32nd book.

Dr. Natekar is the welcome president of this Sammelan, which is being held jointly by ‘Brihanmaharashtra Mandal, New Delhi’ and ‘Sahityaleni Pratishthan, Talgaon’ under the chairmanship of renowned Gomantakiya writer Gajanan Desai. The conference will be inaugurated by Adv. Ajitsinh Rane, an active worker in the Marathi movement.

Dr. Natekar has previously published 31 books in four languages - Marathi, Konkani, Hindi and English. It includes novels, poetry collections, plays, ideological essays and research writings. The Marathi novel ‘Ek Tod Ghongavatana’ written by him has been published in Konkani, Hindi and English. Also, the Konkani film ‘Ransawat’ based on that novel was premiered at the 50th International Film Festival (‘IFFI’) held in Panaji about four years ago. That film has received several national level awards. He himself is the producer of that film. Apart from that, the Marathi play ‘Ransawat’ written by him has received team awards for presentation at the Goa Kala Akademi and Maharashtra drama competitions.

In the recently held Goa State Film Festival, the film ‘Ransawat’ produced by Dr. Gurudas Natekar’s ‘Bhalchandra Creation’ has received 7 awards. Among them are Best Filmmaker – Dr. Gurudas Natekar, Best Story – Dr. Gurudas Natekar, Best Director – Jayendranath Haldankar, Best Actor – Vishal Gavas, Best Playback Singer – Akshada Talawalikar, Best Audiographer – Rohit Gavandi, Best Costume Design – Reshmi Haldankar. The film was included in the competition of films produced between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2021. In the film, which was shot in various parts of Goa, Dr. Natekar gave a chance to Goan artists and technicians. His film was screened at the 50th International Film Festival. The audience gets to experience the time of the freedom struggle and the complexity of human relationships, the confluence of history, love and tragedy in this film.

He has received more than 250 awards for his contribution in the fields of social, literature, industry, education, sports, and theater. He has held/is holding the presidency of more than 50 organizations so far. To mention the most important, he was the former president of Gyan Prasarak Mandal, Mapusa Urban Co-op Bank in the cooperative sector, Maharudra Sansthan. He is associated with more than 175 organizations. He is a trustee of G. S. Amonkar Vidyamandir, run by New Goa Educational Trust, Mapusa. Dr. Natekar has acted in more than 60 plays, and the plays he has produced have received various awards at the national and state levels. Dr. Natekar has published 31 books till date, including two research theses, Ph.D. and M.Phil. He is also active in politics.
