Goa Push Tamil Nadu to the Last Ball in U-19 Women’s Elite Clash

Panaji: Goa put up a spirited fight against Tamil Nadu in the Women’s Under-19 Elite Cricket Tournament at Alur Cricket Stadium 2 in Bengaluru on Saturday, narrowly losing by two wickets after the opposition chased down the target off the final ball.
Batting first, Goa posted 116 for three in 20 overs, thanks to an unbeaten half-century by Usma Khan. She scored 50 not out off 45 balls, including four fours and a six, and shared an unbeaten 65-run partnership with Joya Meer, who remained not out on 22.
Tamil Nadu’s chase started shakily as they slipped to 20 for three. However, Madhumitha Anbu (23), Nandhana Sridharan (41), Samyuktha Saranya (14) and Poojashrini Ulaganathan (12) helped steady the innings and guide their team to victory.
Goa’s Nikhila Naik led the bowling effort with three wickets for 27 runs, while Pooja Kalel claimed two for 11. Nandini Chauhan, Usma Khan and Vidhi Bhandare took one wicket each. Despite Goa’s determined effort, Tamil Nadu held their nerve to secure a narrow win.
