Goa’s Youth Will Lead India To 2047, But First, Must Say No To Drugs : CM Sawant

Bicholim: In a powerful interaction far from the usual political speeches, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Friday connected directly with the future of Goa at Sai Nursing College, Sankhali. Attending the ‘Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect’ programme organised by MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, under the theme ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’, the Chief Minister gave a clear message A Viksit Bharat by 2047 is impossible without a Nasha-Mukt Yuva   The programme was not just another awareness camp. It featured interactive sessions, youth presentations and a direct dialogue where students voiced their ideas for a developed India. The highlight was the collective taking of the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge’, where hundreds of young Goans pledged to stay away from drugs and inspire others to do the same.

Addressing the youth, Dr. Sawant emphasized that Goa’s demographic dividend is its biggest strength, but substance abuse is its biggest threat. He urged nursing students and youth present to become ambassadors of a drug-free Goa in their colleges, villages and homes. .The event concluded with a strong resolve from the youth of Sankhali – to build a career, not just for themselves, but for a developed, healthy and drug-free Goa
