South Goa DEO Reviews Poll Preparedness; Directs EROs to Fast-Track Enrolment Camps and AMF Upgrades

Panaji: District Election Officer, South Goa, Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, reviewed the election preparedness and the progress of various election-related activities through a video conference. The review also covered the preparations for the Special Camps on Voter Enrolment to be conducted by the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) across the South Goa District. The following are the key points discussed during the VC:
Training of Sector Officers and Sector Police Officers -The EROs were directed to hold a physical meeting with all Sector Officers and Sector Police Officers within two days to brief them on their duties and responsibilities and ensure coordination and preparedness at the field level. Further, EROs were also directed to complete and submit the certificates regarding handing over of VM-1 to Sector Officers.

Locations of SSTs-EROs informed that the locations of Static Surveillance Teams have been identified and were directed to intimate the same to the DEO, South Goa office shortly.
Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) data – EROs were directed to update accurate details on polling station infrastructure and facilities and intimate the DEO South office accordingly.
Critical and Vulnerable Polling Stations and Expenditure Sensitive Assembly Constituencies- EROs were directed to ensure strict adherence to Election Commission of India guidelines in identifying them.
Deleted voters -The status of deleted voters and preparation of the list of deleted cases was reviewed. EROs were directed to furnish exact, updated data in intimation to DEO South Goa office. EROs were directed to ensure that all deleted cases are manually verified with reference to the pre-SIR electoral roll, and that the list of deleted cases is finalized.
Meetings with ELCs -The status of meetings with Electoral Literacy Clubs and BLOs was reviewed. EROs were directed to share photographs with the media, and upload them on the respective Assembly Constituency social media handles.
Reporting of BLOs and functioning of voters enrolment camp locations- EROs were directed to issue orders regarding the Special Camps, wherever required and ensured that camps are made functional at the designated locations.
Mapping of PwD voters- EROs were directed to accurately record the type of disability of each PwD voter and submit the updated data on an urgent basis to DEO South Goa office.
Rationalization proposals -The status of rationalization proposals in respect of certain Assembly Constituencies was reviewed.
Social Media handles and Photographers of camps- EROs were directed to activate the Social media handles and photographs of the camps to be shared with media and the South Goa Election Team.
Vehicle and Videographer requirement-The vehicle and videographer requirements for the forthcoming election were reviewed.
Other matters -The processing of applications received under Forms 6 and 8 was also reviewed, and EROs were directed to complete the necessary procedures at the earliest.
The DEO emphasised the need for timely completion, accuracy of election-related data and strict compliance with the instructions of the Election Commission of India, ensuring that all election preparedness measures are completed within the stipulated timelines.
