Goa Beat Puducherry in U-19 Women’s T20
Panaji: Goa overcame a poor start to chase down a modest target of 78 and beat Puducherry by four wickets in the Siechem Trophy Inter-State U-19 Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament at the Slims Cricket Ground (Puducherry).
Puducherry, after opting to bat first, managed only 77 for seven in 20 overs as Goa’s disciplined bowling attack kept them under constant pressure. Renisha Rajendran remained unbeaten on 45 off 44 balls, while Prachi Nikam and Vidhi Bhandare claimed two wickets each for Goa.
Chasing 78, Goa slipped to 7 for two early on before captain Athashree Shivarkar and Usma Khan steadied the innings. Athashree scored 33 off 40 balls, while Usma contributed 30 off 38 balls. Despite Agalya’s three-wicket spell, Goa reached 78 for six in the 17th over to seal victory.
