Uproar in Goa assembly over land conversion question; 3 Opposition members marshalled out

PANAJI: (Aug 31) Leader of Opposition in the Goa assembly Yuri Alemao and two other MLAs were removed from the House on the first day of the monsoon session on Monday after they protested against Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar’s decision to disallow a question on land conversion.

As the session began, Congress leader Alemao raised a point of order, seeking to know why a question on land conversion in the coastal state had been disallowed.
