Marathi Dept. of Purushottam Walavalkar HSS Organizes Field Trip to Birthplace of Saint Sohirobanath Ambiye
Thivim: The Marathi Department of Purushottam Walavalkar Higher Secondary School, run by Saraswat Shikshan Sanstha, organized an enthusiastic field trip to Palye, the birthplace of eminent Goan poet-saint Sohirobanath Ambiye, on August 25.The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to learn about the saint’s life at his birthplace. Teacher Mrs. Richa Shirodkar explained the saint’s famous poem ‘Haribhajanavin Kaal’ (Time Spent Without Devotion to God), which is part of the Class XII curriculum.To foster interest in sculpture and to create awareness about its challenges and opportunities, the students also visited ‘Neha Art Gallery’ at Palye for a terracotta workshop.

The students created various articles from clay and were overjoyed to see the objects crafted by their own hands. They participated with great enthusiasm, embracing the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience.A total of 24 students participated in the field trip, which was conducted under the special guidance of teacher Mrs. Richa Shirodkar and B.Ed. trainee Ms. Radhika Sutar.
