“Go Green Calangute”: Congress Distributes 600 Saplings in Major Green Drive
Calangute: The Calangute Block Congress Committee on Saturday organized a Plant Distribution Program at Saturday Bazar, next to the Calangute Post Office, as part of its initiative to promote environmental conservation and a greener constituency.
The program was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest MLA Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira, along with Congress leaders and local party workers. During the event, nearly 600 saplings were distributed free of cost to residents, encouraging them to plant and nurture trees in their homes and surroundings.


Addressing the gathering, MLA Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira emphasized the importance of increasing green cover and urged citizens to actively participate in environmental protection by planting more trees. He said such initiatives are essential for creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.
The organizers appealed to the public to care for the distributed saplings and contribute towards making the Calangute constituency greener and cleaner through collective community efforts.
