On Drug Abuse Awareness Day, Neura School Rangoli Drives Home Anti-Drug Message
Panaji : Marking 26th June, observed as Drug Abuse Awareness Day, a special Rangoli on the theme ‘Drug-Free India’ was decorated at Sri Dayanand Arya High School, Neura, Tiswadi, to spread awareness among students and the community.


The Rangoli comprised 18 blocks that illustrated the harmful effects of drugs on health, family, and society, while also depicting ways to cope and stay away from substance abuse. The creative initiative aimed to engage young minds visually and reinforce the message of a healthy, disciplined, and drug-free lifestyle.Speaking on the effort, the organiser said
the focus was to make India drug-free by sensitising students early through art and dialogue. Teachers and students appreciated the Rangoli for conveying a strong social message in an accessible, impactful manner.
Such awareness activities are part of broader efforts across Goa to curb drug abuse, especially among youth, by combining education, community participation, and creative outreach.
