Beneficiaries of ‘Mhaje Ghar’ scheme will get legal documents at doorstep: Goa CM
PANAJI: (Jun 9) The beneficiaries of the “Mhaje Ghar” scheme, which regularises ancestral houses, will get the ownership documents at their doorsteps within the next six months, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Tuesday.
The scheme aims to grant legal ownership rights to long-time residents who have built homes on government, comunidade (community), or other public lands without proper documentation.
Addressing a state-level programme in Panaji to distribute the documents, the Chief Minister said opposition parties had tried to create hurdles to the passage of legislation on this scheme in the assembly.
