Green Lungs project: Goa civic bodies to identify suitable sites in 2-3 months, says Rane
PANAJI: (Jun 5) All municipalities in Goa will identify suitable sites over the next two to three months to implement the ‘Green Lungs’ project, which will be undertaken through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of companies, state minister Vishwajit Rane said on Friday.
The state Urban Development minister chaired meeting of chief officers and administrators of various municipalities here to discuss about pre-monsoon works.
“During the meeting, the ‘Green Lungs’ projects were discussed in which the open spaces would be converted into vertical gardens. These projects will be taken up under CSR. A corpus of Rs 8 crore has been collected for the purpose. Officials were asked to identify places in their respective local bodies to set up green lungs within next two to three months,” he said.
