CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Calls on Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav in New Delhi
New Delhi: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant met and interacted with Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav in the national capital on Monday. During the meeting, Dr. Sawant discussed key issues concerning Goa’s environment, forest clearances, and climate-related initiatives.
The interaction focused on strengthening Centre-State coordination for sustainable development and expediting approvals for critical infrastructure while safeguarding the state’s ecological balance. Dr. Sawant briefed the Union Minister on Goa’s ongoing efforts in coastal protection, Western Ghats conservation, solid waste management, and climate resilience measures ahead of the monsoon. He also highlighted the state’s commitment to balancing development projects with environmental safeguards.
Union Minister Yadav assured continued support to Goa for green initiatives and timely clearances under the Ministry’s ambit. Both leaders stressed the importance of collaborative action on forest conservation, pollution control, and climate adaptation in line with the Viksit Bharat vision.The meeting is seen as part of the state government’s proactive engagement with the Centre on environmental and developmental priorities.
