Mapusa Fire Services Clear Crushed Stones from Binani Slope, Avert Mishap in Colvale

Colvale: Quick action by the Mapusa Fire Services on Wednesday prevented a potential accident after crushed stones fell onto the road at Binani slope, Colvale. The incident was reported at 13:04 hrs. A fire tender from Mapusa Fire Station, under Sub Officer Prakash Kannaik, was immediately dispatched to the spot.On arrival, the fire personnel found loose crushed stones scattered across the slope, making the stretch hazardous for traffic. The team swiftly cleared the debris from the carriageway using shovels and ensured the surface was safe for vehicles.“Binani slope is a busy stretch and stones on the road are a serious risk, especially for two-wheelers.  We cleared the entire area to avoid skidding or accidents,” said Sub Officer Prakash Kannaik. No injuries or vehicle damage were reported due to the timely intervention. Traffic movement returned to normal after the road was cleared by the fire crew.
