Mapusa Firefighters Save Dog Trapped in Tivim Well

Tivim: A dog trapped in a well near Habitat Building at Madel, Tivim was rescued unharmed late Monday night following a swift operation by the Mapusa Fire Station.

Residents alerted fire personnel around 11:06 pm after hearing the animal’s distress calls from inside the well.

A team led by Leading Firefighter Ranjit Gaonkar rushed to the site with rescue equipment.

The firefighters used ropes and harnesses to carefully lift the dog from the deep well. The operation lasted nearly 30 minutes.

The animal, though shaken, was found unharmed and released immediately.

Locals commended the prompt response of the fire brigade. Fire officials have reiterated their appeal to residents to cover open wells to prevent such accidents involving animals and children.
