DELIVERY RIDER ALLEGES ASSAULT OVER BIRYANI ORDER DESPITE ON-TIME ARRIVAL

COLVALE: A food delivery executive has alleged he was assaulted by a customer in public view after handing over a biryani order, despite having delivered it on time.

According to the rider, he reached the location — which was slightly beyond the pinned address — and called the customer before handing over the food. After accepting payment, the customer allegedly began abusing and hitting him, slapping his face and head for nearly five minutes. The rider also alleged that the customer threw his mobile phone and SIM card away during the assault

.The delivery executive claimed he was not late and that the earlier delay had occurred at the restaurant. He said the incident took place in front of onlookers and that he has video evidence of the assault.A complaint is yet to be formally registered. The identity of the customer and exact location have not been disclosed pending police verification.
