MAPUSA MLA INSPECTS ANGOD ROAD WORKS, PUSHES FOR SPEEDY HOTMIXING IN WARD 9
MAPUSA: Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza on Tuesday carried out a site inspection of ongoing road milling work in Ward 9, Angod, and reviewed preparations for hotmixing along the stretch.D’Souza was accompanied by officials from the Mapusa Municipal Council, Public Works Department, Sewerage Department, and Electricity Department, along with local residents. The joint inspection aimed to identify and clear operational hurdles delaying the work.
During the visit, the MLA directed all departments to coordinate on underground utilities and ensure no further delays in laying the hotmix. Issues pertaining to sewerage lines and electrical cabling were resolved on the spot with engineers.“All inter-departmental hurdles have been addressed.
The focus now is to complete hotmixing at the earliest so that residents get relief before the monsoon,” D’Souza said.
Residents of Angod had earlier raised concerns over the dug-up roads and delays caused by overlapping works.
The Ward 9 stretch is a key internal road catering to several housing pockets and sees regular two-wheeler and four-wheeler traffic.PWD officials said milling work is nearing completion and hotmixing will commence once utility clearances are confirmed. MMC will monitor the execution and manage traffic flow during the works
