FIELD FIRE NEAR PRITI INTERNATIONAL HOTEL DOUSED; MAJOR DISASTER AVERTED

MAPUSA: A field near Priti International Hotel at Gawsa Wado, Mapusa, caught fire on Monday afternoon, triggering a swift response from the Mapusa Fire Station.The incident was reported at 14:55 hrs, following which a fire tender from Mapusa was rushed to the spot. The team, led by Leading Firefighter Shri Ranjit Gaonkar, brought the blaze under control and prevented it from spreading to nearby properties.No casualties or damage to structures were reported. Preliminary reports suggest dry vegetation in the field may have fueled the fire, though the exact cause is yet to be ascertained. Fire officials said timely intervention helped avert a major incident as the site is located close to commercial establishments and residential pockets in Gawsa Wado.The fire services have urged the public to avoid burning waste in open fields, especially during the summer months when dry grass can catch fire quickly.
